How CareObs Works
Save hundreds of hours. Record accurately. Totally secure.
CareObs replaces paper-based observation charts with a guided, clinically safe digital tool purpose-built for residential aged care. It runs in any standard web browser on devices a facility already owns. No installation. No app store. No IT department required.
Four core strengths
Compliance and safety at the point of care
CareObs automatically flags Mandatory Reportable Events under SIRS at the point of care, during observation entry, not after submission. The app is aligned to the Aged Care Quality Standards at every step of the observation process.
Ease of use at the bedside
Mobile-first and designed for one-handed operation. Voice input works across all fields in Australian English. Auto-save fires every 800ms. If a worker is interrupted mid-observation, draft data is preserved and they return to exactly where they left off.
Data security and audit
No third-party access. The facility retains full control of every clinical record. Every observation is timestamped and attributed to the recording nurse, creating a complete, auditable trail.
Clinical safety escalation
A two-tier escalation alert system is built in. Critical notifications display full-screen and cannot be dismissed without a documented worker acknowledgement.
See it in action
A guided workflow designed for the bedside. Tap through different observation domains, enter data with one-handed operation, and voice input works across all fields.

Six bedside features
NEWS2 scoring, built in
The same internationally recognised early warning system used in hospitals is available to every aged care worker at the bedside. CareObs uses the same NEWS2 system, not a modified version.
Abandonment recovery
If a worker is interrupted mid-observation, draft data is preserved and they return to exactly where they left off. Incomplete records are prevented.
Professional export
Generates a clinical report in HTML format suitable for GP visits, family communication, or direct export to a facility network folder.
Voice input
Workers can dictate observations hands-free in Australian English. This reduces typing errors and keeps attention on the resident.
Colour-coded history
Critical observations display in red, warnings in amber. The full observation history is visible at a glance for every handover.
Zero installation
Runs in any standard web browser on devices the facility already owns. No app store. No IT department. No per-user licence complexity.

CareObs guides every worker through a consistent six-step process, ensuring complete and accurate clinical records every time.
